The 2023 BeSafeNet Olympiad laureates and their teachers celebrated their winning performance on the occasion of the Award Ceremony held at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 1 December. The top three were team geOLTgrafias, Romania (1st), team Amigos III, Greece (2nd) and the Green team, Bulgaria (3rd). The BeSafeNet project Manager as well as the EUR-OPA secretariat participated in the event. The students successfully competed against 174 secondary schools across 10 of the EUR-OPA member states.
The competition was organised in the framework of the BeSafeNet project implemented by the Cyprus Ministry of Interior and sponsored by the European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement (EUR-OPA). BeSafeNet continues to raise awareness about the nature, causes and potentially destructive effects of natural and technological disasters.
